Place Fabric is leading the design of the ground plane for the Woodlands North development, shaping the interface between the buildings a flexible commercial tenancies opening directly onto Scarborough Beach Road and Ewen Street to encourage pedestrian activity and street life.

A central landscaped laneway provide informal gathering spaces, integrating seating, shade, and greenery that enhance the sense of arrival and community connection. Careful attention has been given to pedestrian circulation, wayfinding, and accessibility, including clear links between the plaza, retail entries, and adjoining streets.

The material palette draws on natural, locally inspired tones and textures to complement the surrounding neighbourhood, while alfresco dining zones, coffee windows, and flexible seating encourage interaction and vitality at all times of day. By thoughtfully activating the ground plane, Woodlands North establishes a strong connection between the precinct, its residents, and the wider community, creating a welcoming urban hub for work, leisure, and social engagement.
