Perth Markets Masterplan

Place Fabric, in collaboration with With Architecture Studio, has developed a comprehensive 20-year masterplan for the Perth Markets in Canning Vale. This strategic vision aims to modernize and expand the 51-hectare wholesale fresh produce precinct to meet the evolving needs of the fresh produce and horticultural supply chain.

The plan focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, improving access across the precinct, and accommodating growth. Key upgrades include the expansion of cold-chain and logistics warehousing, enhancements to the Market City retail centre, and significant improvements to onsite infrastructure and amenities. The masterplan anticipates the market footprint will grow to approximately 160,000 square metres over the next two decades, unlocking new commercial opportunities and ensuring the precinct remains responsive to emerging market trends and consumer demand.

Developed through extensive consultation with tenants, the local council, and key stakeholders, the masterplan outlines a staged redevelopment of the site, with a strong focus on the first five years. This vision supports the fresh food and horticulture industry and those involved in the state’s fresh produce supply chain through continued investment in cold-chain infrastructure, logistics, and retail facilities.
